Our Most Important Relationship

In today’s blog post, I want to share a story with you that happened to me this past week. It’s an important one disguised as an everyday occurrence, as so many of them are, and it’s the perfect story for where I am right now in my journey and the message I want to share with you.

You see, the other day a repairman came to my house to fix some things for me. And, when I went to go invite him in, he was drenched in the smell of smoke. (Funny side note: When I tuned into him before he came, I kept seeing an emphasis on the nose; I just didn’t know what it meant!)

The old me would have let him in, the whole time worried about if the smell was going to saturate my furniture and home long-term.

But, one of the things I’ve been working on my next version of, is doing what’s right for me and not leaving myself, even if it makes me feel uncomfortable or like I’m too much, AND, even if it is inconvenient for another person.

So, instead, I talked to him about it and decided to reschedule for someone else to come out. With this, I didn’t make him wrong. I just stood in my truth that this wasn’t okay for me (If you’re a sensitive being, I’m sure you can relate!), and we both went on our ways.

This was a new experience for me, as the old me would have let him in for fear of being too much, breaking my own boundary in the process.

Doing this, though, would have been one subtle version of the ways we can leave ourselves and violate our most important relationship—the relationship we have with ourselves.

When we do this, though, we energetically tell the Universe and others that it’s also okay to violate our boundaries.

And, while for many years, this has been a focus for me, I’m finding myself noticing, even more, the subconscious ways that I compromise my relationship with myself that I am no longer willing to, as if I can’t trust my relationship with myself, I can’t trust myself out in the world. To me, THIS IS OUR MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP and crucial as the intensity in the world heightens.

With this, can you relate to this story? If so, would you like this to change for you?

As part of this, I have to say, the above story is even more perfect, not only because there has been a renewed focus of choosing me, no matter what, but also because, over the coming weeks and months, you’re going to see what might be perceived as a shift in my messaging, towards healing painful relationships.

Truth-be-told, the heart of my work has always been this, having helped my clients to heal relationships (to name a few!) with their parents, children, and most importantly, themselves, to create beautiful relationships and lives, so I’m beyond excited to be sharing this next level with you!!
